Here is a suggestion. If you have more then one CD player, such as a CD drive and a CD-RW drive make sure that that is the drive it is trying to read. For example make sure it is not reading E: if your CD-RW is on D: Those are just examples as it could be on R: or somewhere else. Look into the options. If this does not work go find the site of the hardware itself and get help there.

if u r using windows xp , you dont need any driver support.
just check the cdwriter in "Master" mode of jumper setting.
some mainboards support cdwriter in master only.
i think this is the only problem u r having, if still its not working, just get it replaced for your vendor.....nothing wrong with your system.
