There have been a few people I've met in my life who really seem to get pleasure from making other people irritated or angry. It's really like they've scored a point if they have got to somebody.

I'd really like to know what - psychologically - is going on with these people.

Maybe they've got emotional issues that are not resolved properly and they think that taking it out on others is some form of 'therapy' for them. I have met many people like that, when you explore deeper into these people's emotions, you realise that they themselves are hurting deep inside. They either secretly feel like losers themselves or they think the world owes them their happiness. When I get irritated with these people's actions or words, I just tell myself, 'F*uck it! Life's short and I don't think I should be sorting out your lives for you people. I've got my own life to mind over. So F*uck it!'

Seeking humour and fun is a natural instinct.
Now it so happens that these people find it amusing that somebody is not having control on emotions as good as they have. And so, they like to have fun testing it often, and enjoying the irritation, .. just like children like to tickle other children and enjoy the helpless giggle !
They really do not mean any harm, but again lack the ability to realise the extent of hurt they cause..
But if taken in a positive spirit, it can help us to over come this lack of control on emotions, with such ticklers doing the quality control checks free of cost !

They are probably attention seekers. People try to attract attention in various ways, and irritating others is just one of them. I've met a college kid who behaved in a pretty irritating way in my class. He definitely got the attention of me and his classmates, but at the same time he irritated us.

Yes, I know a few of those myself. I think these people just do it for fun because they don't know how to occupy their minds in a more constructive way. In all actuality, most people that cut up others are so darn insecure that they want to direct the attention on to someone else. Sometimes it back fires on them though. Love it when that happens. Just learn to ignore them. Laugh it off. That way it ruins their fun and they will move on to someone else(unfortunate for that someone else)

Brudu B is a prime example of what I'm talking about. He's probably terrified of being picked on.

People probably irritate others because they feel the need to get attention. If they don't get attention by doing good, they'll might do something bad.

let me rephrase your question. Why do people allow themselves to be irritated by trivial matters? Most of the time, the supposed irritated person just does not have tolerance. They need to learn to lighten up

It sounds like a mild form of oppositional defiance. They love to annoy people for the sake of annoying them. Just think...they don't try to work at annoying you~ it comes naturally to them :-)

I work with teens who have this literally as their diagnosis and one of them takes pleasure in annoying me and then having the nerve to ask me if there's a problem.

Actually, people don't irritate you. You become irritated. It may sound hard to beleive, but the decision about how you feel and respond is yours.

most people tends to react differently to issues and respond at the same time differently hence they cannot tell if they offend or not, sometimes we do things without realizing that it offends the others so until we take unconditionally explore through ourselves what we want from them we will always get offended. take heart with them for they do them unconsciously. thank you

For my brother he just has nothing better to do when he's away from the computer. He's obviously not thinking when he does it,he irritates people much bigger than him and he's a skinny little kid.
