well, don't you think she would have had a lot of explaining to do, had she survived it? not only she set the prom on fire ( good on her) but she also stabbed her mother to the kitchen door. yes it was self defense.... Basically, she would have gone straight to the electric chair, or the cuckoo' s nest.

In the newer, more accurate to the book by the way, she does live. The writers of the original movie messed with, as so many do, King's original vision.

Yes and she also should have let that female phys. ed teacher live also because all she tried to do was help Carrie out all the time.

yes for sure and the physical education teacher. the teacher was trying to only help carrie. she was so proud to see carrie at the prom with her dress and carrie was smiling and had her head held up and she was radiant and beaming........ til all the crap began happening. that was just wicked but i felt sorry for carrie and for her teacher.
