Don't knock Astrology if you haven't really studied it.

And by 'study', I mean learning all the fundamentals and the history and intricacies of interpretation. Reading the daily horoscopes or books about your Sun sign is NOT studying it, but just playing with it for your own entertainment. And to puff up your own ego perhaps, so you can smugly tell others it's all rubbish.

Those who have just superficial knowledge of Astrology but who go around condemning it are just showing how ignorant and shallow they are.

Astrology developed through milleniums of daily observation of the effects of the planets and their movements across the heavens. That is, through empirical evidence, or observing an effect, if any, when a certain planetary configuration was forming. All these planetary positions and effects were carefully recorded and referred back to for thousands of years. Any logical person could see there were consistent patterns and trends in those records.

In the old days, Astrologers were very learned and respected people, and even used their knowledge to double up as doctors and scientists. It was not for the ordinary folk because the knowledge was too valuable to let them have and was kept only for the Kings and Rulers of the time.

Once again, the daily horoscopes and popular books on Astrology are quite useless. Don't believe them, because they are too general and impersonal.

Start by getting a proper Natal Chart and Analysis done. Your Chart is unique and specific only to you, no-one else. You will find that a lot of it will be true. It is really useful for knowing your talents and skills, your life trends, where your gains lie and where your troubles are too. All these are tools for you to plan your future better and so live a happier life.

over the years astrology (not just the study of astrology but how it works) has been studied extensively and now is a science. The problem with it is that too many people these days make guesses among themselves about themselves and other people (erroneously) and also perceive things and make things happen rather than it coming first from astrology. (i.e. when a strong leader is needed in a group they choose a leo, or if they want someone very detailed they choose a virgo, and that's not right, it's not a totally correct reading). If you are in need of a reading you should contact someone who is well versed in astrology, who does lectures, who does continuing study, who does cousulting to get the proper direction. It's a fact, that horoscopes that are written up in the newspaper are generic and are written only for fun purposes.

You are right about needing a scientific reason to beleive in astrology. I will give you two reasons
Mathematical
Have you ready Chaos theory - James Gleick? It tells you that there is a mathematical accurate simple equation to each and everything in this world . Similarly if you have heard of the golden ratio (1.6.18) it is found abundantly in nature's creation including flower petals and body sizes.
My point is that nothing in this world happens simply by chance , there is a system to everything. Astrology is that mathematical system which measures human time.

Astronomical:
You may why consider stars, sun , moon in the equation? I guess you know that the moon causes waves in the ocean and the earth moves by the gravitational force of the sun. If they can affect such huge inanimate bodies, these gravitational forces must have some kind of signicance on the animate species also.

The world is a system- not chaos and nor is it an isolation . There are rules regarding what can happen and we are part of the galaxies and constellations. Hence we are affected by them. Astrology measures this force and the impact

there is no logic to it...
it's just a diversion from real life when you don't have anywhere else to turn to...
i studied it and found out.
the thing is, the Scorpio horoscope might be true, but it might be true also for a Virgo, and you can make anything be true if you look at it from a certain way.
like your horoscope says 'today is your lucky day... you will run into money...'
then you find a quarter on the sidewalk,
so you're happy,
but you forgot that cash register clerk shortchanged you 75 cents!
no!!!
just don't believe it, it's balogna!
