They are a regional provider. If they offer service in your area, the plans are outstanding. I live in Atlanta and the service works perfectly for me. The coverage area is adequate and the quality of calls is outstanding.

With Metro PCS you can have all the minutes you want for a flat rate each month. My bill each month is 43.00, but I have added optional calling features. This rate includes all the various fees. The base rate I believe is $35.00 plus fees and that should come in around $40.00 per month. Not bad for all the talking you care to do. You can also add unlimited text messaging for $3.00 per month. No contracts and currently no activation fee. The downside is initially the phone costs are much higher than other carriers who lock you into contracts and discount their phones. The Metro PCS phones only work in their local area, so be sure to check the coverage map on their web site to make sure it fits your needs.

Good luck!
