I was disgusted some time back to hear that parents of Welsh schoolchildren (a minority I must add) were not willing for part of the curriculum to include learning the Welsh anthem. How can they imply that this is a waste of time? Don't they want their children to integrate into society, join in, and be proud of their heritage. Whether they speak Wlesh or not, it's hardly a huge task to learn one song? What do you think?

First ... The Blue Jays are a baseball group. you have published this question in the Canadian soccer class. regardless of the venue of the place the sport is performed, and it quite is optimal to all activities, if a Canadian group is in contact, the two the yankee and Canadian national anthems are performed. If the two communities are from Canada, purely O Canada is performed. Likewise, if the two communities are American based, purely the famous guy or woman Spangled Banner is performed. generally, gamers do not salute in the process the anthems. they are going to easily stand at interest. I dont think of there is something to "handle" whilst an American-born participant indications to play for a collection in Canada. They understand (or would desire to assume) that it comes with the territory of having the Canadian anthem performed. Getting paid tens of millions of greenbacks a 300 and sixty 5 days, i can't think of of one who complained that he had to take heed to a distinctive u . s . a .'s anthem ... i can't have faith I only responded this dumb question... oh nicely, 2 factors for me

Maybe those parents are teaching more to their children than what u think - ie how to love their fellow man and up hold Christian principals. My country has 11 official languages and 3 seperate portions of the anthem sung in 4 languages. So what knowing the anthem does not make me more or less a part of my society it is accepting others for who they are and where they are at. Stop being petty and learn to accept others it will make you a better person, this is what is important. We can't all be rocket scientests, we don't all think alike so don't put everyone in a box please.

I am not British. But I agree with your contention. An anthem like the good Earth one is born in is considered sacred. A child ought not to be divorced from the culture of the good earth and its anthem.

Yes! Every child in Britain should be tested on the words and tune of our National Anthem. They should also know that one is required to stand when it is played or sung.
They should particularly learn the correct (original) third verse - singing about other nations:

Confound their politics, frustrate their knavish tricks.

No, I think the less attention brought to welsh children (or anyone/anything welsh for that matter), the better!

The British anthem is much more socially acceptable.
