Well, the Theory of Evolution suggests that we and apes descended from common ancestors not that we descended from present day chimps or anything. Thus the objection that runs, "Where are the apes now?" is nonsensical, they evolved into us and present day apes.
Yes, I am proud, let me explain why; it is a poor student that does not surpass his master. To become greater than your distant ancestors is surly a thing to be happy about.
And proud that they like me used their intellect instead of just accepting easy answers

I have no feelings about ancestors. I am proud only of what I personally accomplish. If I was proud of ancestors, I'd be prouder to be related to apes (We are not descended from them.), than to be related to dust and Adam's rib as Genesis says. Some ignoramuses chant mindlessly, "If we are descended from apes, why are there still apes?" A small group evolves into humans, but most of them remain the same. There's no reason at all why both the old groups and the new ones cannot exist together. This stuff makes no sense at all, just like the rest of creationists' malarkey.

What I am proud of is that my family made sure I had a good education so that I wouldn't go around spouting moronic nonsense about things I cant understand.
There are a lot of places to go to find out information about where humans came from. The American Association for the Advancement of Science, the National Science Teachers Association, the National Association of Biology Teachers, and several hundred other science groups (and quite a few religious groups) that endorse Evolution and the teaching of evolution.
Apparently some folks got homeschooled or otherwise missed out on the curricula which all these groups recommend. They probably got their information out of some third hand translation of a few fragments of ancient allegorical writings.

Yep! But I'm proud FOR my ancestors rather than proud of them. Whatever they were they had the wit and guts to survive, and that passed life to me. Believing in evolution only implies that modern apes and I had common ancestors, as with probably all other humans. That entails some empathy and concern not only for modern apes, but for all other living things. I only wish I could have similar pride in the humanity I now share the planet with, but in that I have to be selective, sadly, as so much of it seems mindlessly devoted to killing each other or destroying the earth systems on which all life depends. Yo Ho Ho and a bottle of something!

Proud of my ancestors goes to my relevant memory, within the last millenia. Beyond that, the word 'proud' loses its meaning. The only relevance going back to our hominid beginning is to think that homo sapiens were smart enough to beat out the Neandertals, but Gork and his clan has no meaning to me for words like proud and disgusted, or whatever.

I don't know. Nice name! Are you proud to know you are a decendant of apes, too? Evolution and creationism are only two different variations on the same theme. Now, if you excuse me, I have a banana with my name on it!

I'm not a descendant of apes, but we do share the same ancestor. To say that I'm a descendant of apes it like saying that I'm the child of my third cousins and not my parents.

If we're going back that far I can't honestly say I am proud of my ancestors. I have no idea who they were or what they did before about 1500 AD. No telling who or what they were in 3,000 BC. Heck, they may have even been politicians - or, god forbid, lawyers!

Good name. I am proud of my ancestors. I am not descended from apes. I reject the theory of evolution.
