sad to say that other than tons of makeup (which make most women look cheap and trashy & very noticable) or cosmetic surgery (very expensive and risky ) you dont have much hope !, however be pleased with the way you look and perhaps work on your self esteem rather than your body ! afterall it is the inner beauty that is most important and in the long run wins out. and since you are fifty you should recall the blues song titled "marry me an ugly woman, caus' she'll be true and boy can she cook". do not fall into the trap set forth by advertisers and the idiot's of society. hold your head high, have a positive and pleasent outlook on life and you will automatically see the changes created around you.

It takes commitment and work, but you can do it. I always have. It begins with diet and exersize. Sounds easy, but those two things are the biggest factors in looking good. Find a workout routine that suits you, and DO IT religiously. Even walking daily (4 or 5 times a week) is enough, provided you always do it.

DO NOT SMOKE!! That will age you so fast! When you're 50, you'll look 60, and when you're 60, you'll look 70. If you already do, quit. Every drag of a cigarette constricts the small blood vessels that deliver oxygen to the skin. That causes wrinkles and discolors the complexion. Many plastic surgeons won't even do a procedure on someone who smokes, because they're at higher risk to heal poorly and the surgeon's work will be for naught.

SMILE! A happy face causes others to smile back at you, (not all do, but you'll be surprised how many.) When the people you see are smiling at you, it does wonders for your own attitude. It's a real case of getting back what you give. And while we're on the topic of smiling, see your dentist regularly, and take good care of your teeth. If you can, have them whitened professionally. That will take years off your face, you'll be amazed!

For each year older you become, reduce your makeup accordingly. Older skin shows wrinkles far more if you apply makeup too heavily. And DO NOT tan, or spend excessive time in the sun! That, too, ages your skin. If you've already overexposed, see a dermatologist or cosmetic surgeon to find out what you can do to remedy the damage. Use an SPF 20 moisturizer on your face as a makeup base every day.

Cleanse your skin thoroughly every evening before bed. If it's dry, apply a moisturizer. Get enough sleep each night.

Do drink lots of water and fruit juice to remain hydrated.

Love your family! Love yourself. (Not necessarily in that order.)

If you can afford it, some cosmetic procedures that work and are effective as we age are: botox for frown lines (about $350-$375/treatment), Restylane (a filler for deeper wrinkles, about $350/treatment), and perhaps a facelift & eyelift if you need it. That runs you between $10,000 and $20,000 or more. But a lot of women never need them!

We can all look great at any age if we follow these guidelines. Have fun living!

50 is the new 30, so relax. Exercise, drink lots of water and watch your fat and salt intakes. Drink some milk or milk products like yogurt now. Go to the hairdresser and ask her for a more youthful, but stylish hairdo. Never try to LOOK younger, stylewise. That just accentuates your chronological age and make you look stupid and 50, not 40 or younger. Also, remember not to dress like you are 20 or 30. All the little nuances of superficial youth, looks awful on a beautful mature adult. There are day and night creams that will tighten your eye area. Invest in them. Use the new mineral face powders, they add depth and softness. Do not dye your hair a solid color. Go to a colorist and have him/her do highlights or sunbursting. Your waist is now probably starting to thicken just a bit, so it is a great time to really work on your midsection. Remember, the best way to look younger is to look the best you can at your own age and take care of your body and mind to get there.

You'd better take serious action on 50 yr. old skin cause most of us "mature" gals need it! I'd say, be sure you use sunscreen everyday! I use a 'buff-puff" to exfoliate lightly every evening and never go to bed with makeup. After exfoliation, I apply a moisturizer with antioxidants. Don't smoke! It robs your skin of blood with every puff and makes you look like a prune! Drink water...at least 8-10 glasses a day! Take vit. E supplements too!

I keep my makeup light...less is best on older women. Focus the attention on your eyes, and light on the lipstick. Use your eyebrows to frame your face. Most of the time our brows fade with time. No mascara on lower lids...keep attention at eyelevel.

Also, hair is very important. Keep it close to your natural color, or experiement with something new and warm! NO BLONDES! if you must go light, highlighting looks less harsh. Also, keep your long hair pulled up in the back and frame your face with side bangs, or cut all of that long stuff back to a chin length (no longer) do; try one of the new spikey looks (which is what I wear). Shorter hair will not drag your face down.

I have had laser treatments on my skin to tighten the collegen and they are expensive but worth every penny.

I guess the aim is to look nice and put together, without looking like you're trying to hard. Go for "class" not youth. YOu might want to take in one of those make-over programs to get some good hints too. Anyway, carry yourself like a million dollars and that's what people will see. Godloveya and all of us "mature" gals!

Wearing younger style clothes can do wonders! I don`t mean that you have to wear your daughters clothes, just adapt a few of the styles. Do you wear jackets? Have you considered wearing a denim jacket with skirts/trousers? Wear high heels with jeans.Use lots of accessories Bangles and beads etc.belts and waistcoats,high-heeled boots.Don`t expose too much flesh, at 50 its` not as firm as it used to be! Change your make-up colours and have a good haircut. I`m sure that you`ll look great.

Use a good moisturizer with a wrinkle reducer. You could dye you hair, wear a little make-up, exercise, drink lots of fluids, dress a little sexier. Confidence helps you feel a lot younger and it results in looking a lot younger if you put effort into it.
