The person who gave me the frog (who's had it for a while) says yes but I found a site online that says no, that holding them can damage the frog!

when I was a kid we handled tree frogs all the time with no ill effects for the frog. The reason they say it's harmfull is cos frogs absorb stuff thru their skin, so make sure your hands are clean that means even from acidic soaps, but don't go overboard about it.

You can hold your frog but you need to make sure your hands are wet (only use de-clorinated water, leave water to stand for 24 hrs to get rid of clorine. Hold over a tub or bowl full of water so you can keep wetting your hands.
The chemicals in your skin are toxic to the frogs skin and can cause the frogs skin to burn. Your skin is like acid to a frogs skin!

Also no soap or foods on your hands!
