in no-limit texas hold 'em you can only recover your initial blind, plus however many calls you had on it. so say you bet 30 chips, and 3 people called, you would have 120 chips. any subseqent bets would go in a side pot for the other players to win. i assume this holds true for other brands of poker also.

No, if you only had enough to cover half of the blind, then you would go all in and whoever called you and whatever the amount of chips of their call added to yours would be the only amount that you could win. The other players would keep on playing on a side pot and be able to continue to bet

No. If you have only part of the blind then the main pot, with your partial blind amount and the other players in the hand matching amounts. A Side pot would be made immediatly with the remainder of the blind.
