No. The nearest she ever came to London was Fotheringay in Northamptonshire, about 70 miles from London. From the age of 25, she spent the rest of her life under guard in various castles and manors, ending up in Fotheringay where she was finally beheaded.

She never met her cousin, Queen Elizabeth I.

No never!

She was held at Bolton and Tutbury, visited Buxton, held at Coventry during the Northern uprising, visited Chatsworth house during her captivity, Chartley and finally to Fotheringhay castle where she was executed for her plot to murder Elizabeth 1st after the discovery of the 'Babington plot' but never London.

Her keeper was George 6th Earl of Sherwsbury and Bess of Hardwicks fourth husband.

Her story is fascinating. She began life as Queen of France! She was accused of murdering her husband Lord Darnley. She married her husbands 'murderer' and was chased from Scotland by her own people.

Once in England she became the centre of every Catholic plot to kill Elizabeth and be put on the throne in her stead!
