Tell the person that you appreciate his feelings toward you.But, you have to be honest that you just want his friendship.
Better be true to him than making him believe that you also feel the same way.It would be difficult at the beginning but guys can easily handle hurt feelings.

Just say thank you for sharing your feelings and that you are flattered, but you have to be honest and tell that person you only have friendship feelings. It would hurt more to lead the person on. To just meet someone and say that would scare me off. Just be honest and tell them you cannot reciprocate feelings that they are feeling. If it is going to hurt them for you to be around with different feelings, then you will stay away. I did that and it worked out fine.

Oh my god, I was in this situation once upon a time. Its better to tell them straight, but tell them you like them, so you dont hurt them any more, and state that you wish to be friends. If you have some remote feelings, keep it open for maybe get together. I really appreciate your answer, I know and it hurt so much, but you have to get over it and move on!!

Just tell him tht u r really very lucky to have a frend like him but u want just frendship....nothing elz.......the feeling mite *** sum time later coz it havent been even a month since u ve met.....
It mite take sum time to adjust wid ur frend as a lover....but not so early! Tell him u need sum time to think untill tht u can b gud frendz....
N i think if u realy wanan b frendz then just tell him face to face its beter to b frendz rather than in a relation which can create a lot of trouble in bet u n him....Like all dose promises....trusts......

Umm, if he just met you and tells you he loves you, he has a serious problem. Love on first sight is a bunch of BS. That is simply lust on first sight or infatuation.
Be careful around this guy, and just plain out tell him you just want to be friends and when he says that it makes you uncomfortable.

any way try to BE honest with him.
tell him directly what u really feel for him.
dont put him in confused state .
