Not long, if man continues NOT to learn from their mistakes.

It depends on several conditions.

Roughly, earth can sustain human life from anywhere from 50 years to a billion years.

The main question is whether human beings can live and work in harmony with each other while not abusing earth.

This is the main obstacle.

Then there is the question of whether earth can sustain the exploding human population of six billion plus, and beyond, to say ten or fifteen billion people.

At some point, it becomes something of problem keeping control over the health of many people. Epidemics could devastate many, and this might be a balancing factor yet could lead to economic collapse.

And finally, earth itself has been and will always be subject to destruction from outer space, such as asteroids or gamma rays.

If man is to be the most intelligent of all inhabitants of earth, then it is incumbent upon mankind to find ways to make earth itself a safe and inhabitable planet while finding ways to explore other nearby planets in the hope of perpetuating humans in outer space.

It's highly questionable whether mankind has the ability to preserve and protect earth and it's huge population, because individuals tend to take care of themselves before they worry about their fellow man.

the earth cannot be destroyed by anyone or anything in the first place. God wouldn't let anyone to ruin his creation (the earth) because he has a better plan for it in the future. the earth will remain forever but what will soon be gone is the system of things here on earth. (Rev.21:3,4 Daniel 2:44, Matthew 5:5) If you want to know more about your question, or more.. study the bible. or just leave me a message here in yahoo 360.

don t be afraid the earth will sustain human life until the coming of the moment that our GOD had already choose .of course all that affect the human s life but have nothing to do against them just to pray and to invite them to have a short look on the bad effects of all that on humans life and how day after day the earth insist on destroying the life of born babies by the same way it was destroyed .and to invit them to live certain second with abnormal babies all their fault is to be the born on this earth .and to ask them to think a little what would be their reaction once having a child like that .so don t be afraid for nothing happens without the desire of our GOD.

Luckily, if we can find a habitable are of land of saturn we are set because of it being surrounded by enough large and hot stars to create it's own climate.

if you want ,you can leave as long as you can.
nobody will die at that moment.
though a lot of people in the world ,still the earth turn round.
it proves that with people's intelligence ,we can help the earth sustain as long as you can.
one day, someone want to destroy the earth ,at least one day is OK!
