Listen. SATA is a good interface but it is a tortoise comparing to the Small Computer System Interface or SCSI. Naturally you should also consider the RPM.
For the same proportion, believe me it is not worth to go for SCSI but it is more expenssive also.
If money is not a problem you can opt for USB or Firewire for better performance.

No, stick to SATA. SCSI is slower I think. I would only consider SCSI on a server with a lot of HDDs
