I have a web site that I need extra content. Will I be sued if I copy and paste content from Wikipedia ?

Yes, you can since Wikipedia is available under a free content license which means it is free to use, modify, and redistribute, even if you want to reuse it commercially.

However, you must abide by the terms of the GNU Free Documentation License (GFDL) which you can read at http://gnu.org/copyleft/fdl.html

Some of the conditions in using Wikipedia are that you attribute the content to the original authors and that you maintain the work under the same license - you need to include a copy of the license text and make it clear the content is released under the GFDL.

Wiki has a very long topic about this that anyone who is copying/pasting needs to read. You must read it if you plan on doing anytning like this. You can get in serious trouble, yes.
