It's like putting foundation on your legs, like you do your face. It smooths all inperfections and makes your legs look smoother.
Plus when it's cold, they warm up your legs - and of course you feel sexy in stockings.

For hundreds of years everyone in Europe wore tights, men and women. It was not until the industrial revolution that men stopped wearing tights as thick trousers were better suited for factory and mining work. Women, mostly, did jobs were skirts were worn and tights were still worn underneath skirts.
In modern times wearing tights, or stockings, is common enough and people still do so because they are seen as classy, sexy or warm enough to warrant wearing.

Tights keep the legs warm in winter plus you can still wear a skirt without showing your pasty white legs. Stockings just give the legs a nice smooth look. Even the most sheer ones can camoflage small discolourations and scars. Both of them act like thin socks that absorb and distribute sweat so the shoes don't get sticky and stinky.

I generally wear tights between September and June. I wear them to keep warm, because they help hold me in shape and because as the summer suntan fades anaemic legs are a bit unattractive. I don't really like trousers so I wear tights a lot. They're also good to cover up if you haven't had time to shave!
I very rarely wear stockings, and it's usually because my boyfriend wants me to rather than by choice because he thinks they're sexy. But they are horribly fiddley to put on, and a bit draughty up top -so I only wear them when I'm dressing up to go out somewhere special really.

I wear tights for work and thick patterned ones when going out if im wearing short dress etc but stockings are more sexy.

I wear tights in the winter as they are extra comfy, if you pick the right size, and help keep my legs warm. I find stockings very uncomfortable, even if people do say they look sexy, so I don't bother with them.

I hope u are a man asking this question, I though haven't worn tights since I graduated from catholic school, but they did defiently keep me just a little warmer, when I didn't wear them my legs always got numb on the very cold days whereas when I wore them I never had this problem.

Stockings you were for a more sexy look and everyone knows wear them under our gowns.

There are a few reasons, really.

I wear stockings to work, usually to keep warm, but they can also be worn to cover bruised or grazed legs or legs with shaving rash.

Usually, I prefer not to wear them, but do so to cover up bruised shins from sporting, etc.

I tend not to wear either. But the odd occaision has popped up which required it: Formal dinners, formal parties etc- i think its a ladies etiquette to wear these awful things.. and ive worn stockings, with my suspenders...
