I like a combination of both. I like the peace of the countryside and the go go go atmosphere of the city. I prefer to live in an area that has both.

Both.

The country is more relaxed. But city is much more acceptant and open minded.

I grew up in the country, and loved being able to just walk for miles and miles on my own or with my dog and not seeing anyone at all. It was so quite, and there was hardly any traffic. On the down side, there wasn't regular public transport, and it took at least twenty minutes to get anywhere. We were lucky in the village i lived in Devon, there was a train which came every three hours each way Plymouth, but the bus to Tavistock (the local town) only came every twelve hours. In the village i lived in in Oxfordshire before that, there was no public transport at all, but luckily it was only a 4 mile walk to the nearest town, from there you could get the bus to Oxford or Swindon.

I now live in Plymouth, and although i miss the walks and the quiteness (ALOT) the public transport is brilliant in terms of quantity, though (as with most of the UK), is lacking in terms of quality, and running on time. People in the city are much more acceptant of difference. I am white, but my husband is Black, and this is not half as much of a problem in the city as it is in the town i went to school in let alone the village i grew up in. However, the traffic is 24/7 here, and as we dont have double glazed windows, it is kinda loud, and gets extremely tedious and annoying.

There are many plus sides to living in the city, and i think for myself and my husband, they far outwieght living in the country in the UK. x x

country definitely i move from the city 4 years ago to live in the rural highlands of Scotland and i would never go back to living in a city ! the kids have a much safer life in the country and i don't have to worry about one of them falling in a park and landing on glass everything is well looked after! people will say hello in the street, and the community all strive to make the area what it is !!! give me the country life any day !!!

I was raised on a farm so even though I live in a huge city now, I still crave the country life.

Well I live in the country but I miss the conveniences of the city. You know like a big grocery store, a Super Walmart, lots of restaurants.

I like country life style with people with city mentalities ie. not small minded people who have never left the villiage and to whom you'll always be an outsider and of course the city shops.
