Porn seems to be everywhere because it IS everywhere. What can we do? We can refuse to use services and products from companies that we know supply/promote pornography. We can refuse to have relationships with people that use pornography. We can speak up when people make jokes and references to porn and tell them that we don't approve and that we don't find it funny. We can write to our political representatives and join campaigning groups. We can read feminists texts and become involved in the feminist movement.

Pornography is a big money industry. In addition, the advertising slogan "sex sells" has never been more prominant. Pornography is also not a problem unless it is posessed or viewed by someone that should not legally do so. Advertising and magazine racks don't affect a young person's mind nearly as much as parenting.
What people do in their personal lives is their own business and not anyone else's. If an adult wants to view pornography in the comfort of their own home, they should be able to. Why is an adult viewing pornography a problem? You also seem to neglect the fact that its not only men that view pornography. While men have the lion's share of that market, many women view pornographic materials as well. It seems to me that your views on pornography are somewhat narrow. If I were you, I would call or email various pornography production companies Public Relations departments and start asking for statistics. That way, you can state your question more clearly with numbers backing you up.

I think this one will run and run and run.
Men's brains are wired slightly differently from the ladies. we are much more visually stimulated. hence, a quick look at a naked lady and we are ready for action. Women are stimulated in a much different way. Many women feel degraded by this imagery because it doesn't work for them. If it helps that is not what blokes think about when they look at "normal" porn. The "Degradation porn" is VERY easily identifiable mostly illegal in the western world now. Personally I find it a turn OFF

It would seem that the women in porn are the problem. If she didn't let people take naked pictures of her then they would not be available. Stop women from doing it and it goes away.

The sad fact is that it exists because many people want it. And yes, even a large percentage of people who decry it publicly.
If it didn't make money, it wouldn't be around long.
The real problem is NOT the actual vice like porn, but the reason behind the vice - and I believe it is a deficiency of common sense, and a loss of solid values. And frankly, it'll likely get worse with time.

Its not a problem really. And why would you need to make people aware of it if its everywhere for people to see, as you claim?
If you want porn, you have to go look for it, maybe you are not telling us the truth here and you have a secret porn obsession?

Educate the men around us about how these images make the women who matter to them feel. Talk to our sons about the feminine form and the difference between beauty, art and porn. In other countries where the female body isn't treated as dirty and something men need to look at only in the secret of their bedroom, they seem to not have as much porn. Or at least I feel like it isn't on the newsstands and in my face so much in those countries.
My experience has been that porn is more prevalent in countries like the US and UK where we still have issues with sexuality.

The normalisation of pornography is worrying because this essentially means the pervasive commodification of the female body as a sex object to sell and promote things. It is also worrying because such a trend celebrates a strict criteria for the female body- namely slim and effeminate with large breasts. As if women don't have enough body issues as it is...
The normalisation of pornography brings with it the eroticisation of powerless female sexuality and women as sex objects.
What can we do about it..?
Firstly, where the hell do we start..?

Firstly would like to agree whole-heartedly with Charlie.
In addition, Kevin the ‘Men re more visual’ is gradually been discredited by several scientific studies.
I feel that this’ theory’ is an excellent smokescreen for pornified men to excuse their behaviour.
For example read this study. This is one of several carefully researched studies that turn your hypothesis on its head.
