I have a male friend. We are "only" friends and have no plans to change that. We enjoy talking to one another and have been friends for a little over 2 years now. I do think he is handsome and he thinks that I am pretty but that is as far as that will ever go. Why does my friend think that it is impossible for men and women to "just be friends". We are proof that that is not true.

You are right a man and women can be only friends i have male friends who i have been friends with for many years and have no intention of going any further with them. I think that your friends may be jealous of the friendship you and your male friend have. Otherwise they may be living in the past were people generalise about anything and everything.

Gals, guys will always tell you that "we can be friends only" because that's what you want to hear, but there's always a sexual component to male/female friendships in the mind of a guy. If you were to tell your "friend" that you need him to have sex with you, he'll do it with very few exceptions. Those few exceptions being that he's either gay or scared.

I have male friends and the friendship is strictly platonic. The people that think men and women can't be friends have proven why they think that. Need more be said?

yes i have many male freinds that is strickly platonic.
but i believe once you have crossed the line and and have sex that changes things and for most cant go back. ive only know one set of freinds who were friends after that happend and that was because the male confirmed that he was happier with other males but was glad he tryed sex with his best girl friend

yes.

The stereotype is whenever people see 2 pretty people of the opposite sex walking together, then they are dating or something is going on.

Yes, when you both respect each other. I have lots of female friends. Your friend needs to get a hold of her hormones.
