i have an 18 month contract with vodafone that is due 2 end in november, if i go in2 the shop 2 cancel it in november once the 18 months is up will i still have 2 pay a cancellation fee?

No but they might say that you need to give them written notice 4 weeks before you're contract is due to expire to say that you're ending your contract, you don't - verbal notice is normally sufficient, but just to cover yourself I would give customer services a call and send off a letter 5 weeks before your contract expires.

you can actually upgrade for free, new mobile model, you can keep the same number if you want. you're contract is due Nov., as far as know, you can upgrade 1 month before the contract ends. call 191 from your cellphone (it's free), and ask for upgrade if you still want to stay on vodafone, or cancel it now and find another network.

on vodafone, you do have to give 30 days written notice, it's in your terms and conditions and verbal requests will not be sufficient. Just draft a brief letter and fax it to 08701 616 500.
