It should be just a push fit, like a snap fastener. Put it carefully back in place and press firmly. If that doesn't work (as it may not), then the plastic that holds it on may be damaged (how did it come to be loose in the first place?). Judicious application of superglue may be the answer but that might interfere with the mechanism. It's probably best to consult a computer repair person first.

What do you mean without wrecking it - If your key came off - youve already wrecked it Dude.
Keys on computers and laptops nowadays are rated to a million key strokes - it must have taken some effor to get the key off. What exactly did you do?

Actually, it's a simple procedure for one who's used to doing it; but not reccommended for the amateur who can damage the keyboard by doing it wrong.
My advise is that you take it to the repair shop and let a professional handle it for you.
Remember, a stitch in time saves nine? This will cost you much less than what it might if you bugger up on fitting it back.
All the best.
Cheers

The keys are made to be popped off for easy cleaning. just place the key over the keyboard and gently push it into place, nudging it if necessary to get it to lock in.
However, if it looks like the mechanism is broken or they key itself has a part snapped off that would allow it to attach, then you'll have to get the whole keyboard replaced.

Put it upwards towards its position, press your finger with a little pressure on it until it will pop in.

a bit of double sided tape should do the job. otherwise, if you have insurance, just take it to the shop and get it repaired.
