He actually signed over his soul, his first born's soul, and every other offspring of his to Satan. From my understanding back in the early 80's he played a character on a soap opera, and was named one the sexiest men on daytime T.V. He then made the cross over to prime-time and made such classics as Knight Rider
and Baywatch. Plus SNL had a running joke about him and how the German's love him. So I guess the more you say he's popular the more likely it will happen. that's my 2 cents

Seriously its because in this day and age talent and disposition means little anymore (there are some who do have great talent and more but they aint really the majority) compared to marketability, name recall and just good-old-fashioned appeal. If people still remember you for Baywatch and Knight Rider... then you're bound to make money even if you are virtually untalented. As for Germany... eh anything seems to float their boat nowdays.

Finally a good question from someone! I would love to hear what talent people think he has. I tried to give him a shot - I watched Baywatch a few times just to see if there was something I must be missing. Nope. Still don't get it. Although I've never heard his music. If someone has a link to one of his songs, I'm willing to give it a go.

Considering he has a massive fan base in Germany (they love him) I'd say he has all the money he needs to buy his own albums and promote his over-rated glutius maximus!
Did you know that he was upset because he felt he had a hand in the fall of the Berlin wall and wasn't acknowledged for it? Something about a concert and one of his songs bringing people together - or something.
At least he looked good in his hey-day. His plastic surgery makes him look awful. He really should've opted to age gracefully.
I caught his 'jump in my car' music video on yahoo music. I had to stop it 10 seconds in. Never again!

The same could be siad of many a "celebrity", you are right though. Most of his money is made from the "Davidoff" scent range which he owns and apparantly he goes down a storm as a singer in Germany, go figure?

He wore red beach shorts, went to the gym and got stunning abs, then ran in the beach as he was surrounded by fellow attractive body-guards with silicone boobs and long legs for a job were he was paid a lot of KACHING!..just to make him accomplish his mission: saving attractive victims who are seconds from drowning. All of this is enough to make us wonder if all the bodyguards in our local beaches are actually loaded with $$$..I believe this is enough to answer your question!..

He is a talentless moron, i agree, BUT he did baywatch, Knight rider, which we all watched and loved as kids which carries the Retro seal of approval. He is big in Germany, who lets face it are about 20 yrs behind in sense of whats cool (sorry Germany but i believe you are). And anyway.... who says you need talent in way shape or form to make it. JUST LOOK AT JADE GOODIE ! ! and she aint got looks either ! ! God she does my head in ! !
