Killing happens and will always happen.
It is no big deal to kill for fun or just for the sake of killing.
It becomes an art to kill for the right reasons, like culling, kill for survival, (example : for food ). See how the animals and insects are built for the kill.
Man is almost the only species that will kill indiscriminately and unartfull.
Those who do it without choice, are masterfull , most times thier lives depend on it.

I'm sorry but I must agree with benitocanadian on this one. Although it is wrong in every aspect killing can essentially become a 'form of art'. Some people become so entangled and obsessive that it become an addiction. I don't know so much if death by firearms is an art, but then again I'm looking at this as a detached form answering a social faux pas.The planning that may or may not be involved with the method, and the elaboration and detail of the method itself can become a form of beauty to the guy or gal sick enough to contemplate this sort of thing at length. All art is subjective, it is what makes it so difficult to put any parameters and guidelines dictating what art truly is. In my own mind I would refer to it as a sickening atrocity that further indicates the decay of our society's morals, but as a subjective neutral analyst, I must say that I can understand how this could be validated.

Killing can be an art. Assassins can be considered artists. There are definite stages to being an assassin and these stages relate to the assassins distance from his intended target. You usually start off with a high powered sniper rifle, allowing you to be hundreds of yards away. As you progress in skill you move closer and closer. Eventually guns give way to swords and knives. The most deadly and artistic assassins are silent ghosts that kill in the space between heartbeats and leave no trace that they were even there. Anyone can kill someone by blowing things up but it takes real artistry to gain entry into someones home, work, church etc and kill them silently making your escape and leaving no trace of your presence.

Killing is most definately an art, at least for thost that are willing to take thet time do do it right. It takes planning, patience, and creativity. Anyone can put a gun to someones head an pull the trigger. But it takes a real artist to arrange for someone's stove to blow up when thy light it, or to isinuate ricin into their tea bag. Finesse is the key...It is no accident that professinal assassins used to be called "mechanics".

If it's not easy to kill, that is why humans are (or should be) ethically inhibited to kill. To surmount this inhibition must not be named an art.
