People asking to the italians why we hate americans? It is not true, the italians generally love America but your Mr. President has given a great contribution to change love in hate, friendship in rage and so on. By the way, can anyone tell me about the stupid stereotypes about italians (mafia,spaghetti,short and dark, cowards,waps,dagos) and why some americans (not all of course) in Italy are so arrogant? I am italian, former army NCO, I worked with US Forces for 25 years and, believe me, I know what I am talking about. Thanks to all.

Well, I think that there is a misunderstanding. I am Italian, I love America and Americans, I don't like Bush and when an american asks me why the italians hate US people I really do not understand it. But I ask myself why americans have so many stupid stereotypes about Italy and Italians, why they think that dollar can buy everything, why they are so harsh in criticising us, loving anly our restaurants and pizzerias and forgetting about all the other things (arts, culture, civilization) that are the pillars of our nation? Meet an american in Florence asking for an information and saying in surprise "how is you speak english?" and after a while I asked friendly what did he like about Italy and Florence. Answer: yeah, pasta, buono! Ciao guys.

We think everyone hates us! Most of us are kind of embarrassed by President Bush. I'm sorry that Americans in Italy are so arrogant. I wish you had elaborated and said what they do that makes them seem arrogant.
Stereotypes? People putting O on the end of every word. Yeah, the spaghetti one too. When you said "Italian" the first thing to pop into my head was an Olive Garden commericial with a big family sitting around the table laughing and pinching babies on the faces. Let's see..loud fighting, with flying and breaking dishes and stuff. Okay I think those are all the ster...oh one more..people saying stuff like "Are you talking to me?" Okay, yeah that all I can think of.

mi piace italiano! I'm not an american but y'see everybody almost hates everybody nowadays. its just not italians, americans, but also chinese, french, etc. instead of asking these questions, guess we can just be ourselves and show others there's nothing to hate about. cheers!
