Do they? I like sour tastes. But then, I watch a lot of so-called "chick flicks", too. Maybe I have extra estrogen. ;)

It has a lot to do with body chemistry.

Vitamin C aka ascorbic acid...is the most common and most dominant 'sour' flavoring in the foods we consume. It occurs naturally in fruits and vegetables.

Females have more hormones than males. Vitamin C is essential for proper hormonal maintenance.

Also Vitamin C assists in absorption of Iron. Which leads me to conclude that because of the loss of Iron during a woman's menstrual cycle (bleeding), females would naturally crave vitamin C to more rapidly replenish blood supply.
