It's an island in the eastern Mediterranean Sea with Turkey to its north, Lebanon & Syria to its east & Egypt to its south.

Its demography is as follow : 600+k people (70% Greeks, 29% Turks & 1% others) - Religion - Eastern Orthodox Christianity for Greeks & Islam for Turks.

Language spoken - English & Greek

Capital: Nicosia/Leftkosia

Currency: Cyprus pound - converting to Euro sometime in the next few years as it's officially joined EU in June 2005.

Country is split in Northen Cyprus & Republic of Cyprus as Northern Cyprus was invaded & still is occupied by Turks in 1974.
