No, I do not. I believe this is just another reason for people to rant about something. There are much more sinister things happening to children all over and energy should be focused there. Harry potter is about magic and children flying on broomsticks but it is presented in a much better way than it was presented in the past childrens books. Think about it, all of us have seen the old magic acts with the magician using a wand to preform "magic", the same as harry potter. Old books of wicked witches flying on broom sticks, and lets not forget super heroes who use their "powers" to help people. Harry Potter and his friends use there "powers" for good against evil just as super heros always have in books. If people are going to say to ban these books than perhaps they need to take a look at the books they have read as a child and also say to ban those.

NO. They should not be banned.
In fact, any book / author that can encourage young people to pick up a book instead of a remote control has got my vote, almost (I said almost) regardless of the content of the book!
How many kids talked about books before Harry Potter existed? No, I can't think of any either!!!
Kids love to use their imagination and these books encourage just that. Even kids need time out from the real world!
Great question by the way!

The question was:
Do you think the Harry Potter books should be banned from the reading lists in school?
YES, ABSOLUTELY! MOST DEFINITELY AGREE, THEY SHOULD GET BURNT, (I know some people are going to say negative stuff) but those books come with very negative dark forces and whether anyone believes it or not, it is full of demonic influences, that have caused children's behavior to get out of control, children are innocent and shouldn't be given this crap to read. It is really poor and in poor taste, give them some good books on literature, real literature, master pieces, history, science, philosophy, etiquette, and many others but that nonsense!!!

If you can't spell or proofread your own question and I can see you don't read anymore than you have to. Then why would you care what is on this reading list!! To answer your question, NO, all children should be able to read this wonderful series of FICTION NOVELS!! To find something that can encourage children to want to read is difficult in its self. When someone has a gift that can encourage children to want to READ, this is wonderful. The topic that runs through this wonderful series of Fictional Novels for children is not any worse than what is on everyday TV.. TV alone, robs our children of their interest for reading and creativity!! Children today, know the difference between fiction and reality and if they don't then it is up to the parents to HELP them understand the differences. To stop a child from reading because you don't like the subject matter in a book when the author wrote these books for children, I feel is wrong just for reading sake.. These novels capture childrens emagination and enterests like no other books of today. When I was growing up there was "Nancy Drew" and "Hardy Boys" to name a few novel series from days gone by. There were subjects in these fictional novels that mothers did not want thier girls to read because they feared that they would be implant with ideas that had not been discussed at home. This is about the time the TV made its daybue into family lives. What I'm trying to say is, monitor what they read in childrens format and guide them when they have questions.. The more children read the more the interest in reading and interest in the world around them.. DON"T STOP READING!!! I"m 62 yrs. old and I have enjoyed reading each one of these children's books with great enterest, maybe, you should start with the first novel and read each one, it might spark a small flame interest in you, who knows, you might learn to enjoy reading like your daughter.

On a class list ..NO. No teacher in the world has time to have a large novel in literacy subjects. But having it available in the school library-why not? It gives the kids the chance to be able to distinguish the difference between reality and fantasy-and also encourage our kids to actually pick up a book and READ!

It could possibly help in spelling although and you need to learn some witch craft of your own. I suggest learning which button to push to check for spelling, it is on the upper right when keyboarding in your question or your answer and it only works with the magic touch of your mouse.
