We as americans are addicted to excitement.We love riding coasters, vacations, sports, basically anything that excites us,
People have affairs because instead of seeking that exciement with their spouse like mixing things up at home having sex outside ect,,,
they choose to find the excitement high by cheating.

for a realistic answer the majority of people that usually get involved in an affair is not what their intentions were to begin with
its probally due to lack of sex at home or lack of satisfaction within sex others it may be they are lonely and in need of someone who appears to care for them and the most common reason is most likely spending alot of time with a person and become close like at work

1.They are not happy with the present relationships.
2.If somebody is available enjoy the life if it doesn't have any repurcussions.
3.You can always return to the old life.
4.Family is tolerant about the behaviour-no questions asked.

I don't know but i think that these people only think about their self. they have nothing to do with their life partner's feelings amd commitment. they have no importance for a good character, morals, loyalty, commitment, life partner
