Do people receive the offline messages?

With skype if someone sends you a message when u are offline, then that message is only recieved by you the next time you are both (yourself and the sender) simultaneously online. so say for example person a sends message to person b, but person b is offline, now person a logs off and person b logs on, b will not recieve the message as a is offline. 2 days later person a and b log on one after another, now the message is sent, so it is dated back to 2 days ago, but is sent now.
