not the speed of thought

Speed of thought < speed of light (only just) due to neurons and bla bla bla.

Speed of the Idea < speed of thought due to many thoughts forming an idea.

Approximately 1-60 seconds for the inital idea. 2 seconds to disprove it if it is weak, or up to a lifetime to disprove it.

The idea isn't important, the feasibility is. This can take a while to discover, as you have to think (at the speed of light) of ways it can fail or be disproved.

I hope that makes sense and possibly be an answer referring to your question.

Alternatively, you may not receive an idea for a few days, weeks, years, etc. It all depends on your inspiration - what your thinking at the present time and whether your mind goes on a tangent to think of something new you didn't previously know about.

For example: I would never have thought of this answer without being inspired and challenged by the question. Thats what I love about Yahoo Answers: it's a challenge to think of answers sometimes.

It may take you 5 seconds to prove me wrong!

Here is a thought, If my vantage point were between them I could think faster than the speed of light! I.E., I can look at two galaxies that are a thousand light years apart and see any changes in them however, if a being in either of the galaxies were to look at the other, they wouldnt see the change for a thousand years.

you mean what speed does an idea propagate in your brain, or the speed at which an idea propagates through society or something else?
