Should wrestlers like Hulk Hogan and Rick Flair retire, or do you think they should they continue to wrestle? Give me good reasoning and examples and I'll give you the "best answer" for this question!

That's a tough one.

Both Ric Flair and Hulk Hogan are legends in wrestling and they've made their mark. Of course, they've taken quite a lot of beatings and some problems which have never healed. So, for their health's sake, they ought to retire. After all, they've done their job in promoting WWE and they've done it faithfully and we appreciate it.

However, they still have a huge fan base so if they wrestle, they'll be promoting WWE even more. The stunts get harder at their age you know like they can't jump off the top rope and miss. It'll pain so much more at their age. Also, they can't take painkillers forever.

It was really tough for Terry Funk to fall off that ladder and also thrown into that barbed wire board at his age. I felt a little sorry for Mr. Vince McMahon after he got that beating at WrestleMania22 and it was painful to see him busted open in the hell in a cell match ( it was NOT painful when he got shoved into Big Show's crevice )

so, are we doin' the right thing by telling these 60+ guys to wrestle even when they've got permanent injuries just because we like them?

Heck, I feel sorry for Mick Foley when he fell off the hell in a cell cage ( 2 times ), when he fell through the hell in a cell cage to the ring ( 2 times ) and all those bloody brutal hardcore matches. Sure, he's a human stuntsman but there's still a limit to stuff which he can do. Even Sabu shouldn't do all the stuff he's doin' right now. He could perhaps wrestle but not so many dangerous stunts. He's a 'homicidal, suicidal, genocidal, death-defying maniac' I agree but keep it up and he'll end up dead.

These guys have kids and wives who they care for and should spend more time with. We shouldn't make them travel 250 days a year and work out 5 days a week.

So, the solution : Don't make them wrestle in matches which involve blood or serious injuries like breaking bones or tearing tissues. Don't involve them in high-risk manoeuvres. Give them special appearances and stuff like that. Give them a contract so that they don't retire; just use them as special refs. or commentators or managers. Keep them involved but don't exhaust them; let them take it easy.

Bottomline : Don't retire. Don't quit either. Stay and do special appearances and occassionally, a match with not too many risks.

Ric Flair should have retired at the end of the WCW days. He should not wrestle anymore. He is too slow, off cue and he's gonna end up getting hurt. These guys now are bigger and stronger than the old school guys. Flair should start being a manager ala Bobby Heenan, or announcer.
Hulk Hogan is done but it is kinda cool to see him show up once in a while. He has bad knees and ankles and a prosthetic hip. That alone should keep him from getting into the ring for matches. I do think that Vince should keep using him for promotions and advertising, he is an Icon as well as Flair.

Terry Funk keeps showing up too. This guy can barely walk, man it hurts to watch these guys take beatings like that!

Ric Flair needs the money especially since the IRS is garnishing his check.

Hulk Hogan is an overrated wrestler and who needs to retire soon and not come back.

Yeah they should retire but not before they headline a pay-per-view... I'm very suprized that the WWE hasn;t done that feud... since Hogan is their icon and one of WCW's icons was Ric Flair it would be great they you can put Dusty Rhodes to part of the Triple Threat Match and I think it be one of the best matches if it is played out right....

They should retire. They have nothing else to prove. Especially if there are now unable to keep up with the younger wrestlers.

They should continue to wrestle because they are living legends and Vince knows the kids back in the day who liked them are now adults earning money and wants to watch their heroes still in action.

I think they should retire....God knows how many more broken bones and crap they have to go through. Like Tazz and Michael Cole said:"There is a limit to how much the human body can take" and for them that take...is Age !!! They should just let ppl remember them as they were.

they should not retire.bcos they still have tons of fans wants to see them wrestle.if they stay, they can teach some young cocky superstar like randy orton a lesson.and its better for wwe to have difffrent wrestler from diffrent age bcos some fans like the older while some like the younger wrestler.and wrestler like hulk hogan still selling their merchandise.
