They ran it on PBS or channel 9 and it had this whale watching ship that had episodes of the crew mostly doing research about sea life from the boat. It was an educational kids show series my school had my class watched in the fourth and fith grades to learn about envrionmental or earth science. Some of the characters in this show were a dishwater blond haired kid named TC who was related to the ship captain, a deaf twenty somthing girl and the captain himself was a heavy set older 40 to 50 year old man that had a grey beard who didn't talk much at the beginning of the series. Do you know what show I am talking about?

I also think I should add for some extra clarification that this was not a cartoon at all and I also believe it was most likely to have been created in the early eighties or really late seventies for those first episodes.

OMG that was a young Aflac in that show!! Haha. And of course my memory reverses the two letters of his character's name.
