The KEY thing to learn about growing up is that you should always be aware that you are you, they are they and I am who I am. In any way you'll be on the awareness... it is the basis of counteracting with society... as we all know that the "I" could not be denied.

The Key thing: when you learn to know what is good and refrain yourself from doing bad. Learning is unending process while you live you have to learn and know what is going around your world.

Always be true to yourself, love yourself,...be kind and generous yet wise in how much you give,....but the most important thing a person could learn is that we were created to relate to our Creator to be as family to him....recieve Jesus' gift of eternal life so that we can be as one happy family in the beautiful kingdom prepared for us when we are ready for it.

That many people have an angle, a game. If you play their games, it's by their rules. You can either play their game, get them to play yours, or abstain from all the BS all together.

I think once people take responsibility for their actions and face the consequences, but also for their reactions (no more "see what you made me do!") then they can consider themselves grown up.
