The Night of the Living Dead Quadrilogy

Shaun of the Dead is funny, but I don't consider it a classic Zombie film. I think it is great and will be someday but right now is more comedy than Zombie film. (So many become comedy too - I throw in this category the Night of the Living Dead movies too)

My vote would be 28 Days Later. A well done Zombie film with excellent social commentary.

there are so many great ones and a whole lot of bad ones.
I'll have to say the classic Night of the Living Dead is the best it has it's flaws but it's the grand daddy of all zombie flicks

Try Braindead (uk title) or dead alive (us title), directed by Peter Jackson of king kong, lord of the rings fame, it's a bit different but the ending is so far out of control it's unreal.
