No, I don't think so. Fish and shellfish is like comparing apples to oranges.

Fish allergies : Just because you're allergic to one type of fish doesn't mean you have to avoid all fish.

Shellfish allergies : Unlike fish, a person allergic to shellfish must avoid all types of shellfish, as most will cause an allergic reaction.

I have had a couple allergic reactions to shrimp and iodine (used for a urologic procedure) , which is found in shellfish, but have had no problems, so far, with eating any type of fish.

Not necessarily. Most people who are allergic to shellfish are actually allergic to the iodine in the fish and are typically also allergic to iodine used in medical procedures. That's why you're almost always asked if you have an allergy to shell fish if you're undergoing a procedure.

Mine started with shellfish oysters sent me hospital twice then saltwater fish now anything from the water but everyone is different.

people that are "allergic" to shellfish generally have a iodine intolerance. such high lvls of iodine are usually not found in vertabrates.
