I just came from the hospital complainting of heart pain. They ran all the necessary test and I was found to be suffering from good old stress. I'm a 57 years old female and I have never had stress in my life. I've always been able to handle situations as they came up. But even now as Im typing this I can feel my chest tightning. Are there any medications out there to help with stress?

There are a lot of medications out there that can help you with stress. Be sure to make an appointment to see your primary care provider and discuss this with him or her.
You also might try meditation, yoga, exercise, eating healthier (if you aren't already), aromatherapy, massage, and a host of other complementary therapies.
Hope this helps!

I have had a heart attack 2 yrs ago and still at times have chest pains. I suffer from anxiety and stress too. I am 47 yrs old. Getting a therapist and doing meditation has helped me a lot. I also went to my primary doctor to get the right medication for me. I suggest you speak with your doctor. Even though we might not think we are stressed most of us are even over the smallest things. Get comfortable in bed or in a reclining chair, close your eyes and breath in deep threw your nose slowly and hold for count of 3 then release your breath slowly threw your mouth. Clear your mind and repeat this about 3 to 4 times. Relax your whole body and think of something quiet and serene. Read books on how to meditate. Peace be with you.
