I think, initially there was meant to be nine movies. There is talk of a new TV show in production, set between Revenge Of The Sith and A New Hope. George Lucas has said there are at least one hundred episodes planned. Set to air 2008.

First of all do you think that Star Wars eps. 1 through 3 are the only ones? like your question is representing? If so there is already 3 other movies that were actually made before the ones you saw already, they are episode 4 A New Hope, episode 5 The Empire Strikes Back, and episode 6 The Return of the Jedi. Oh by the way if this is what you think i kinda feel sorry for you that you didn't know about these movies till now.

7,8,&9 are a sore spot in discussions. Lucas swears that he is not going to do any more movies but they just released 4,5,&6 again and they must have needed the money for something. Rumor has it was for a television series, but; that would stink. It could have gone to pay for Indiana Jone 4 but they were selling 1,2,&3, of that series to pay for that. In short, the problem is in signing Harrison Ford, Mark Hamill and most difficult of all Carrie Fisher to do the remaining three movies. They are old enough to play their roles but they are not under contract to do so and Fisher has become a deep throated heavy set women who prefers writing over acting these days. This could be a hard sell.

Dont take this as fact,

but i heard of a guy who ran into Lucas on a beach (scarry picture to imagine) and he asked George if he would ever touch SW again after EP 3 despite his claim that was the end of the movies.
He said that he wasnt planning to, but there was some ideas in mind.
the guy asked him if it would be a prequel or a sequel and George said that he'd like to go back 800 years to when Yoda was very young and helped win the innitial Sith war.

i heard about the very long ago set prequel, with yoda that the one that discovered the force,,in episode three the emporer was talking about a character that may well be in the upcomign movies,,but rumor is also that there will be a series about luke while he was growing up on Tattoine...i personally would rather watch a series based in the star wars universe , with different actors and situations each week,,kinda like outer limits ,, but not like star trek where they have the same characters in different settings all the time,

Sometimes, letting go seems like the easiest thing to do. But think about this: you've invested so much of your time and energy into another person; you've made a solemn promise; and you still know there's love, even if it's hiding underneath the surface. There are rumors of a tv series but as for films theres only going to be 6.
I think there are nine chapters but 7 - 9 are merely backstories from what I heard and would be irelevent to put into movies.
If they do a tv series, chapters 7 - 9 could be involved, but thats only my theory.

The Star Wars Saga has finished, but there is a rumor that there might be a spin-off TV series

Yes, they'll make another one!
It will be called: "Star Wars and Scarlett Johansson in black lingerie".
Some research expert strongly believes that this will attract male viewers to the theaters.
I can't tell for sure though.

No, George Lucas is done with making anymore Star Wars movies. It would be cool if he did.
