Mostly the Shona (North) and Ndebele (South) people. The governing Mugabe-regime (ZANU-PF) had its support traditionallly among the Shonas but these days I doubt whether they have any legitimate support anywhere. The West is dryer, the East more subtropical. The Matopos Game Park near Bulawayo, Victoria Falls and Kariba are great spots. There's an airport near Vic Falls, both on the Zim side and on the Zambian side of the border. Will be a good idea to take foreign currency (especially USD) - the Zim-dollar is worthless and locals don't want it (even at customs!). Most nationalities need to pay to get into the country (most African citzens and New Zealanders don't pay). British pay a lot. May to November is dry (less Malaria but vegetation sparse and ugly), December to April is wet (Malaria peak in March but green and Vic Falls better). Zim had the highest economic inflation rate in the world this year - topping more than 1000 (yes 3 zero's) percent due to bad government. Beautiful country, though, with friendly people. Definitely worth a visit.
