My primary (default) printer is aan HP Deskjet 3745. My wife prints many downloads with color. I want to add a Lexmark z22 as a secondary to print a lot of text documents not requiring color. Is it possible to HAVE 2 printers on one desktop? You can e-mail me at roy7jr29@yahoo.com if you want to, or just amswer through this program. I check it every day. Thank you.

Enter control panel and put the printer icon on the desktop as a shortcut with right click, move to. Open it and click add printer. Add the new one and open the icon to select the printer you wish to use before you print.

Yes it is possible but (there is always a but) one will be registered as your default printer which means if you click "print" that is the one that is going to get used.
In your Start menu you should see a shortcut to your "Printers and Faxes", from here you can choose which is default so when you go to print a document that is the printer used.
The thing is it really necessary, with your HP when you print something you can change the properties to "quick draft" which prints a text page quickly and with the least amount of ink. As both your printers consume expensive cartridges I would suggest having 2 sets, and original set for photos and the like and a compatable set for normal text work.

Of course, but be sure that your desktop has available ports to connect the new printer. Usually lexmarks printers connects through an USB port. So the only thing you will need its an available USB port.

Go and buy it, you will save a lot of money, printing black & white your text docs

You can have as many printers as you want. It is limited by the ports you have on your system. Get a USB hub and connect one port to the computer and connect the printers to the other ports. Set up the printers on your system. If you have a different profile from her then set the Lexmark as the default printer in your profile.

You can have as many printers as you like as long as there is a port to connect to. The Lexmark Z22 I believe uses a printer port so you need to make sure your computer has one. All you need to do is select the Z22 when you print.

Yes Just Go to the control panel click on printer and faxes and then click on add printer.Be sure that you have two USB or printer ports, because you wont be able to connect the second printer on the same port if you intend to use them simultaneously.

Install the printer using the printer users Guide, it will put the icon on your desk top. set the printer as your default printer.

If both of you use the same machine, you set the default printer she wants after you log on in to her profile, and the one that you want after you log on into your profile.

Copy these sites into a document. All the info you will ever need.

Sure, if they both use a USB hookup. You'll have to switch defaults in the control panel to print from one printer to the other. I don't think that you can run them simultaneously, if that is what your looking to do.

As long as your system has an available USB slot, an additional printer will work just fine.

Just plug it in (following the instructions of course),load the drivers and it should be recognised by windows. You can then decide which printer to use as your primary(default) one.
