Yes, buy a nice unique storage-eater. Most households have several shelves of truly unique gifts in the top shelves of their closets and cupboards. No home is complete without this.
Under NO circumstances should you call the brides friends or local department stores looking for a gift registry of things that are wanted or needed.

I am absolutely in love with this website that has all sorts of fun, unusual, beautiful gifts. You should check that out. See if they have a registry. People really hate to get crap that they didn't register for. I just got married 4 months ago and we got all the stuff we wanted, some stuff we liked ,and some stuff we either took back or took to Goodwill. It was THAT bad, lol. You will find under "occassion", many diff. gifts. Good luck!

As they are paying off a house they may not have enough money left over after paying for the wedding. Maybe you and some friends could your money together to pay for a few nights in a really nice resort or motel.

hi if you are in the uk, i have seen some lovely cream figures in the jewellery shop h samuel, you can probably get them other places too. they are of a couple together and their arms are linked together to form the shape of two wedding rings.the wedding range is called circle of love, and there are loads of different ones to choose from. i think that it would be ideal for a wedding gift. their are others in the range with mum and new baby for instance that you culd get to match when the time comes

How about a rose bush for the garden, there are loads of types, and you are bound to find one that relates to weddings, that way, they have a permanment reminder, and you can move a rose bush when you move house. Someone got me one, and everytime I look at it I think of my wedding and how I felt that day, its great when we have had a disagreement, as it reminds of the reasons we got married.

Depends on how much you want to spend, something not house related like a weekend in a nice hotel or a day at a health spa or something.

I had the same problem. A really nice picture frame they can put their wedding picture in. Outside of that they already have everything.

depends on your budget vouchers are always great but unimaginative,
a night in a hotel,
a meal in a nice restaurant
theatre/music tickets,
something they will both enjoy after the excitement of the big day is fading.
