There's a reason he isn't talking. You can't MAKE him talk... why not fix the root cause reason instead?

I here this myself from time to time from my wife. I don't know your story, but men can get totally lost in themselves, my deal is a 2 thousand Acher farm and tend to let work rule all my time and cut short the people I love around me. This is something my wife brings to my attention when she's had enough and I love her for it, shows she cares about us and our marriage. It also gets her taken out to eat a couple times a week for about a month or so and sometimes a short day trip just to get away. Some would say go to counseling, been there done that in previous marriage and the "SOB" couldn't have cared less, must have been his golf day or something, we just wasted our time with that guy. If you can take this back to before he started the silent treatment, if he's ticked off at you for something, not talking even on his parts not healthy, good luck

I don't know, but this may give you a clue:
I quit talking to the woman who is now my ex because she contradicted everything I said, she was always right even when she was wrong, she always had to have the final word on any subject. She constantly reminded me of all of my faults and shortcomings. In return, she was incapable of accepting even the slightest hint of criticism. She could even misinterpret a compliment as an insult.

Women speak about 20,000 words and men only 7,000. You want him to talk about your kids and your home, etc. and men don't know what to say about these things. Do a small amount of talkng and stick to things he is interested in. don't expect much from him.I used to get mine into the car to go for a ride. He would talk more when there was nothing else for him to be interested in.Like TV commercials - what an insult)

Take the tape off his mouth and untie him.

If that doesn't work check to see he is still breathing.

If he is tell him you want a divorce.

If he still doesn't talk cut the circuit breaker.

He'll say something or he'll sit there in the dark sweating without air condition.

Then put the tape back on and tie him back up.

If you are disrespectful as a wife in order to motivate your husband to be more loving, that's like a bald headed man selling hair restoration oil.

If you are unloving as a husband to influence your wife to be more respectful, that will be as effective as trying to sell brass knuckles to Ghandi.

One wife said, "I realized through this that I was shouting at him too much. He wasn't hearing my deeper cry for his understanding and love. My shouting truly was interfering. What I wanted was his love. But how could he be tender with me when I was screaming at him, 'Love me!'?"

One husband said, "I recognized that when I went silent, thinking this prevented me from getting more angry, which it did, it also made her feel rejected. What I wanted from her was a more respectful attitude but my silence made her insecure. She got more upset with me and said things that made me feel more disrespected."

Stop flipping a broken light switch. There's no point. The one who sees himself/ herself as the most mature makes the first move.

Try asking questions that cannot be answered with just a "yes" or "no", open ended questions........try discussing topics that interest him, what is new at his job, with his friends and family, what sports teams or other things he is interested in.............

What do you want him to say?

Do you belittle him?

Do you make him feel like a man, or are you the man?
