This is one of the hardest question in the music industry. For the facts that these two bands are know world wide. You go to any place on Earth, on ANY country, ANY continent, ANY region, there you would find plenty of The Beatles and the Rolling Stones fans. The comparision would go beyond just music, for the facts that these two bands influenced the people on political, social and economy terms. Ofcourse these are only my opinions, there are hundreds of others out there that think differently from my point of view.
First off, the Beatles. Examine both of the band's background would show how different they're. The Beatles earlier influences were more Blues/and Jazz type. They were influenced by African Americans musicians in the 50's, very "blueish" style you can say. One thing about the Beatles is all members in the band were talented, that would make the band very balance. The Beatles in another word is a very diverse band. They made all different types of music, you can rock'n roll, ballads, pop, blueish songs. All four members of the band actually wrote music and lyrics. All members can actually perform vocal parts. They know how to mix melodies within their songs, so the songs are not boring, but instead, it's flexible to your ears. As later on, in the 70's, they moved more into the rock'n roll style. The Beatles with two most famous vocal duets John Lennon and Paul McCartney, with George Harrison (very underrated guitarist!!!) on the guitar, and Ringo Star on the drum would make you melt!!! The Beatles have songs that strike straight into the people's mind at the time, the music went with the people's hearts and minds, the poors, the anti-war folks.. ctc..
The Rolling Stones on the other hand, started out differently from the Beatles, eventhough both bands were created ABOUT the same time, and both came from England. The Rolling Stones started out soft, if not somewhat pop"ish". Their early records contain songs like "Ruby tuesday", "Angie", "Wild Horses", were among the soft somewhat ballad songs. Not the Rolling Stones that we would know of. The Stones decided to go straight forward to Rock'n Roll. Hits like "Paint it Black", "Jumping Jack Flash", "Brown Sugar", "Satisfaction" were among top Rock'n Roll hits. We all know Mick Jagger for too long now, indeed one of the greatest frontman ever. The guy can not only sing, but entertain the audiences as well, the band's energies indeed came from Jagger. Along with Jagger, the bouncy, "send the chills down to your spine" guitar tunes from Ronnie Wood and Keith Richard, with the energetic Charlie on the drum, had set the Rolling Stones to be one of the most successful Rock'n Roll band of all time. These guys would later influenced on the genre of music that we know of today, Heavy Metal.
Both of these bands are legend, and for sure they've stood the test of time. Their songs were played at many world/international major events (olympics, superbowl, world cup soccer, grammy award, constantly in movies ctc....). It's a sad thing that the Beatles left us with only two members left. The Rolling Stones on the other hand, are STILL ROLLING!! :) They continued to make new albums and tours. (The Bigger Bang tour, that i went to). At the age of 60's, The Stones continued to contribute to the music industry the purest form of Rock'N Roll. That doesn't mean the Beatles are dead.... Infact, their music lived on with the people. Their music was designed for EVERY body at ANY age to listen to.(Doesn't work with the Rolling Stones).
I would have to say I love both bands and I can't pick either one of them. They're too great to pick. Each of these band have something that the other doesn't have. Therefore It's the wisest to love both ;)

The Beatles, they have the most hits and they revolutionize the sound of popular music and affected a lot of artists. Without the Beatles, music will not be where is at today. Long live the BEATLES !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Reknowned record producer/songwriter Jon Brion said:
"The Beatles are the most affecting, diverse, artistic thing to happen in the last half of the last century. At this point I think they’re like Bach or Beethoven. It’s even beyond that. They reached that level a long time ago."
