a million) definite. 2) definite. the value of sound is relative to the medium. it is, if there's a wind blowing in one course (relative to the source) sound travels the quickest interior the path of the wind, as seen from the source. on your case, the medium (oxygen mask interior the cockpit) is table certain relative to the source. So, there is not any difference in how briskly sound travels. After the sound reaches the microphone, it travels via electromagnetic waves to the administration tower. velocity of electromagnetic waves is a relentless, so that is not substantial what velocity the plane is going at (of direction, making use of the real looking assumption that the fighter is traveling at a lot decrease speeds in comparison to the value of light).

Travelling at the speed of sound, if you pass gas (which will then be going faster than the speed of sound) you'll hear it before it gets out of your @$$.

Luckily the speed at which scent molecules diffuse is slower than the speed of sound....so think of the hearing it before smelling it as an "early warning system".

Hearing a sound is a function of vibration. Thus travelling/speed should not matter.

Yes.

Ask anybody that has even flown in an aircraft at greater than Mach 1 (the speed of sound). People like fighter pilots who talk and hear on the radio, or passengers of the Concorde.

I don't know.

But when I was in Nam, and the jets were flying faster than the speed of sound, they would go over us silently and the sound follow many seconds later. Man, hope you are never facing one of those jets. They are death.
