I have loads of favorite movies, but since you named musical movies, I'll tell you my favorite musicals:
"West Side Story" - Awesome music and dancing. It's from 1.961 but the story is never out of date.
"Grease" - a 1.978 classic. My 12 year old daughter loves it so much that she performed it at school and was a success.
"The Sound of Music"
"Oliver!"
"Chicago"
The only one of the five that didn't win an Oscar for best movie is "Grease"

Good ones: Full Metal Jacket (will always be a classic), National Lampoons Van Wilder, Ong Bak, Beverly Hills Cop series. Mindhunters, Anger Management.
Best one that never gets old: My Cousin Vinny.
