Because it is far too expensive, property prices have escalated to the unreachable height that normal paid people cannot afford and will never have a chance of buying their own property. The English are now looking to buy property abroad as it is cheaper. I shudder to think where this country is heading to as the English are abandoning ship, the foreigners who come to work here i.e. Polish, Portuguese, etc are here to take on several jobs, they share housing and expenses, save the money and take it back home to buy themselves houses and give them a better standard of living. Something will give eventually and in a very bad way.

I think it depends where you live. I'm glad I'm not in a large city and I think that may affect my views. On the whole people can be very friendly and we're very very lucky with what we do have... food, shelter, free healthcare etc.
The main reason I've looked at leaving is house prices as renting is so expensive and I'd like the security of my own home for my family. If we had any chance of our home here I know it would be in the cheapest of areas and to be honest, I don't want my kids mixing with the chavvy yobs that seem to dominate them!

I like living in Lincolnshire, I am worried about the state of our country and what the future may hold.
At the moment I wouldnt consider living anywhere else. My partner & I have lived abroad (just 6 months), we enjoyed it but it wasn't as easy as people may think and we were glad to be back on British soil.

i come from london and loved it until i got a summer job in central and my rose tinted glasses got smacked off. then my sisters and brothers had to leave london, they couldn't afford the house prices. my mum wants to move so desperetly (tottenham is the nicest place in the world) but although our house is now worth alot we won't be able to afford one big enough in a nicer area. then there was th drug wars down green lanes, my friend getting attacked outside a pub.........................................
i really began to hate it but then i moved to uni, and i can't believe how beautiful england can be, how green it is and how much more friendly people are in sussex. i love it again, love hanging in the fields or by the sea side, love eating chips, like being able to smile without people thinking you're a weirdo.
so i hate london but i love england

i love it here and would never live anywhere else but i think the number of immigrants is a problem. i say this not to offend anyone but i dont like how we are made to bury our culture so as not to upset foreigners (i.e the banning of christmas deccies in some places) this is ludicrus- this is a predominantly christian country, im not particularly religious but i am definately particularly English and i am proud of that, i dont think i should be made to feel embarresed about it
