Stratocaster and Telecaster are made from Fender,. Their trademark is their single coil pick ups, their most extreme shape, and guitarists as Jimi Hendrix, Ritchie Blackmore, Yngwie Malmsteen, ... .
Les Paul and SG are made from Gibson. Their trademark is their humbucin pick up (doublecoiled), their more artistic shape, and they are concerned as the best guitars of the world. Guitarists as Angous Young, Jimmy Page, Slash, B.B. King pefered Gibson.
They are otally different brand, different sounds but they are the best for sure. I love Yngwie Malmsteen, he is my guitar god, and despite the fact he uses fender stratocasters, me to play such music i prefer my gibson SG.
So what suits you better you ll find out by playing on these guitars. Don't be hurry to buy such an expensive electric. Learn on your acoustic well first. Hope I helped...!!!

The Telecaster is one of the most versatile guitars there is. The late, great Joe Pass (a famous jazz player) at one stage played one. The solo in Led Zep's Stairway to Heaven was played on a Tele. Status Quo use Teles. They are a really popular choice for folk rock, and reggae, and blues, and country. You can get a Tele with a humbucker pickup, or a one with a middle Strat pick up. I think either a Tele or a Strat are the most versatile of guitars (I prefer the Tele). To me, it's the Les Paul that has the distinctive sound. It is much harder, I think, for a player to sound individual when playing one. They have one or two GREAT sounds, but that's it. By the way, you can't make a Les Paul sound like a Strat or either of the Fenders sound like a Les Paul.

of the three you listed, my personal favorite is the les paul, but it's all about the sound you want to acheive.
my advice: go to your local music store(or take a road trip to the closest one to ya) and try out as many as you can.
oh, and the biggest difference in those guitars is the presence or lack of a "tremelo bar", witch can be used to created some pretty cool effects (the strat has this)

Depends mostly on the sound that you want to get. Les Paul tends to be a fuller, deeper, heavier, thicker, sound, Fenders not so much so, but with all the different amps & sound effect devices out there, you can make anything sound pretty rockin'.
