a tornado needs cold air and warm air so it doesn't need clouds

I think that when the heat hits the cold it forms clouds which in turn into a storm the winds hitting each other can start a rotation which could lead to down drafts and a tornado can start but if you watch the weather channal there has never been a cloudles day now ligthting is different a storm can be on the horizon and lighting can travel many miles and strike you it was on tv once the clouds were miles away and they were playing hard ball and a person was killed out in the field center field i think there were no clouds over head

a tornado forms as a result of rapidly rising air. when there is a rapid heating in an area where the hot air keeps on rising, it creates a vacume in the lower (colse to the ground region). this drop in preasue causes the wind being flown from the surrounding area. when these winds come from all directions at high speeds there meet at the center point of the heating area and form a whirlepool. this keeps on happening as long as the heating continues and the hot air rises rapidly.

your question about clouds is that, when there is enough moisture in the atmosphere in the region if condenses and forms a cloud and yes untill that is not satisfies the storm could continue without clouds

im not sure that you mean deform, however small ground born tornadoes that we call dust devils or whirlwinds are born of the heat and temperature inversions in small areas on the ground. but not a big tornado.
