Yes, and it worked. I had taken some Christmas cards to the post office, and bought stamps to mail them to my friends in Japan. When I got home, I started to think more about the stamps I bought and used. I had a nagging feeling of dread. They had a US president on them. I called the library to check the history of this president. (I spoke with the reference librarian.) Just as I feared, the president, Truman, had been president during World War II--and had ordered the bombing of Hiroshima and Nagasaki! Though I didn't know my World War II history well, I was sure my Japanese friends did. I simply had to get those stamps off those Christmas cards! When I got back to the post office and explained the situation, no one seemed to care about my problem--until I broke down (I was a crying mess). One staff member took pity on my pathetic self and helped me retrieve the cards and put generic postage on the envelopes. Thank heaven for him.
Moral of the story: Learn history before you buy stamps or use generic postage.

lol being the youngest, the baby girl of the family, with an older brother by 5 yrs, and everyone else at least 10 -15 yrs older than me, yes i did ......
when you are the youngest, it may seem like a spoiled thing to do, which it was, i was spoiled and i admit it, but when you are the youngest it's also a means of survival
being small, with lack of knowledge, lack of maturity, and being brushed aside because you don't "Know any better" or don't "Understand" o.O; a cute face and tears can be your only weapon to get what you want..... or let others know what's important to you.....
not to mention having an older brother, or any older siblings all together o.O; the ***only*** way to win a fight is to cry just enough so mom or dad can step in ^_~
and when "In trouble" sure , older siblings, they can come up with all sorts of weird excuses and remarks, they know how to manipulate parents or what tactics will work on which parents
when you are that little your mind is too "Innocent" to come up with such evil strategies ^_~ so all you can hope is with your crying someone will take pity on you and "Make everything all better" lol.........

Yes ... But I had faked it !
At school ... I had signed on the attendance sheet on behalf of my missing friends ;-); the teacher actually counted heads and found that they were less than the signatures on the attendance sheet.
The teacher threatened the entire class and one of the guys, who had also done the same thing, signed on behalf of his missing buddies, surrendered, and, backstabbed me too, the prick went and disclosed my name too.
It was time to put my acting skills to action, I faked crying, I was let go and the prick who backstabbed me was barred from attending class !
