Belfour has had his chances to bounce back - and failed.

there is nothing different about this attempt.

There is a part of me that would like to see him have a good season - but logically I dont think it will happen.

no, belfour only plays as well as his defense, and as we've seen over the past few seasons, the panthers dont have much in the way of defense, heres how its going to go down, by december, the panthers will be doing well in the standings, until belfour either a) becomes to dependant on his defense and continues his downward spiral into has been or b) he'll injure his back again,, be forced to retire (hopefully, while he still has some dignity left), which leaves Auld to once again, for the second season in a row, attempt to carry his team into the playoffs, i like auld and think he's a good goaltender, with lots of potential, but, he still needs time to develop. BTW the panthers dont make the playoff again, and begin revamping their team from scratch after another dissappointing season. The panterhs are one of those teams with a combination of potential and has beens with no superstars to speak of. once they find that happy mediem, they will become competive once again, till then, enjoy the golf course

He's okay if his back doesn't start to bother him. I think he's getting too old. It's about time he retired. The Leafs would have kept him if they thought he could play well this season.

I agree....getting out of Toronto can only help him....Anyways his son is well on the way to follow is Dad's footsteps, and should be a force to reckon with.

No, he's pretty much done. Too old and worn down. He is better off schooling Auld on how to get better.
