You have a couple of options.
One: if you want to keep the car OEM (maintained to original specs) you can buy a used engine and tran that are directly shipped from Japan. You have the option of buy just the engine or the combo of both. A lot of times the alternator, power-steering pump, and the A/C compressor are already included if you buy the combo. Look in e-bay, you can always find them there. I know a guy in Houston, TX, who had a container of these type of engines shipped to his salvage yard. That is another place where you can look.
Two: A 98 or higher V-tec + trani out of a Prelude can easily be put in there, You "may" have to take the car to the body shop to relocate some of the mount brackets, as far as the computer is concerned leave the one in the car and add another to operate the engine. You can find these on e-bay also; they are called "Stand Alone(s)" and are fully programmable.
Three: I am not sure but I think you can attach a CRV's DOHC to a 5 speed Accord trani, but for this combination to be any fun you would need to add a turbo, which can be found on e-bay and is shipped directly from Japan. The Stand Alone can control the engine in this set-up as well.
In all of the engine swaps you do, make sure to have the rear main seal changed, you can usually find them at the deal for under $20. Because if they leak later, the repairs are real costly.

its not worth your money to replace an engine in a 14 year old car, if you must however i would suggest buying one from the same make & model car at a scrap yard
